We are happy to be holding our 5th conference and our special presenter at this event is Lois Wachtel!

lois-wachtelLois Wachtel has been in the field of early childhood for over 20 years, as director and teacher. After 16 years in the classroom, she decided to share her knowledge with professionals through  workshops. Lois' workshops are tremendously well received, and she quickly became known for her warmth and creativity. She was dubbed the SquishSquash Lady of Early Childhood, a title that she holds near and dear to her heart.

Throughout this unbelievable journey, Lois has presented Keynote presentations and workshops in Florida, Alaska, California, Arizona, New Jersey, and within many of the Southern states. Workshops Taking Place that Day!

Squish Squash Open-Ended Art

After discussing open-ended art and the value of the process, we will brainstorm imaginative objects to create with, encouraging us to leave the paintbrush in the closet. Amongst other activities, participants will have the opportunity to watch paint rise on towels & paint on plastic with colleagues. (Just a hint of what is in store!) Learn the Open-Ended Art Creed and join us to refresh your offerings and / or learn some new ones! ALL participants will have an opportunity to do ALL of the art projects together

Challenging Behaviour

Strategies to Utilize: Challenging behavior is an opportunity for learning and growth. Lois will share some creative and certainly thought provoking ideas on behavior guidance, many of which are, as she puts it, "way out of the box, but they work!" In this interactive workshop, participants will learn the power of music when dealing with classroom challenges as well as some other strategies that you can utilize when back in your own program.

Bookmaking: Multiple Means & Methods

A wonderful way to further develop literacy in the classroom is to do bookmaking! Participants will make approximately 4 books to bring back to their classroom ... in addition, Lois will give you plenty of ideas to use in your programs (she says ZILLIONS!) It's a favorite workshop of hers and her participants ... total interaction!
